STUDENT GOVERNMENT
OK, this post is to alert you fellow UVU students to a little known fact. The complicated packet you have to turn in to run for office in student government is due soon. In fact it is due February 6th if I'm not mistaken. Check the fine print on the signs in the student center restrooms. This event passes every year with little notice. In fact in 2011 there was only one team that ran and they won. So if you want to be a leader in this campus' student government please go to their office at the end of the hall on the left or west side in the Sorensen Student Center. I'm not sure why the information for this event is not diplayed more than a few weeks in advance but there you have it. I do know that if you want to be a part of student government in a smaller scale you can go to their office at anytime and they will be happy to use you.
They also have many activities all year that often go unnoticed by students so check the signs in the bathroom. That's how I usually learn about them. I sometimes feel the student center is a dead zone due to the north doors being chained up because of construction. People look down the hall and see a dark and lonely corridor, shudder and quickly go on to the science building. But come down that hall sometime you may be surprised at what you find.
In my next post about the student center I will compile a list of a few facts that people may be unaware of concerning what goes on here.
